一、教材分析
本节课是本单元的第2课时。在第1课时中，师生共同完成了词汇的学习。本节课主要是通过阅读教材，了解有关足球的知识，并通过阅读报纸，了解羽毛球、篮球和体育明星的故事。师生共同总结有关阅读的技能，并在阅读中加以运用，从而提高学生的听、说、读、写的综合运用语言的能力。
二、教学目标
1.语言学习目标：学习有关球类活动的词语，开展听、说、读、写的技能活动。
2.能力目标：培养学生的阅读技能并根据所提供的信息练习写作。
3.情感目标：通过精读和泛读，让学生了解足球、羽毛球、篮球和体育明星的故事，使学生热爱体育运动，非凡是热爱我国的体育事业，激发学生的爱好。
三、教学重、难点
1.教学重点：学习并运用3项阅读技能----根据上下文猜词、抓住主题句、找到结论。
2.教学难点：学生如何运用所学阅读技能，提高英语阅读以及综合运用语言的能力。

由生动、活泼的动画片导入新课内容，激发了学生的学习爱好，而且片中所涉及的内容是学生所熟悉和感爱好的，使得学生乐于参与和运动有关的这个话题，并由此引导学生进入新课的内容----Soccer。在这样的情境中，学生很轻易受到启发，将自己的知识和经验与新的知识和经验联系在一起，轻易产生求知的欲望。这样的话题使学生感到亲切。因此，也就有话可说，布满自信，积极参与。 |
