一、教材分析
本节课是本单元的第2课时。在第1课时中,师生共同完成了词汇的学习。本节课主要是通过阅读教材,了解有关足球的知识,并通过阅读报纸,了解羽毛球、篮球和体育明星的故事。师生共同总结有关阅读的技能,并在阅读中加以运用,从而提高学生的听、说、读、写的综合运用语言的能力。
二、教学目标
1.语言学习目标:学习有关球类活动的词语,开展听、说、读、写的技能活动。
2.能力目标:培养学生的阅读技能并根据所提供的信息练习写作。
3.情感目标:通过精读和泛读,让学生了解足球、羽毛球、篮球和体育明星的故事,使学生热爱体育运动,非凡是热爱我国的体育事业,激发学生的爱好。
三、教学重、难点
1.教学重点:学习并运用3项阅读技能----根据上下文猜词、抓住主题句、找到结论。
2.教学难点:学生如何运用所学阅读技能,提高英语阅读以及综合运用语言的能力。

T: So in this class let’s go on with the topic “Soccer”. We’ve finished the new words in the last period. So in this class, we’ll learn how to read passages in a better and faster way.
